IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHANGE.
MEET KATE, LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR AND CERTIFIED SEX THERAPIST
How I work
At the core of my approach to COUNSELING is a belief that you are not broken, your patterns make sense, and healthy women and couples create healthy communities and a better world.
I’m a Colorado native, therapist, wife, and mom of three, and I believe deeply in the healing power of being seen and understood. My work is rooted in the idea that when we have space to slow down, make sense of our experiences, and feel genuinely supported, meaningful change becomes possible.
Over the years, I’ve worked across foster care, crisis intervention, schools, and substance abuse treatment, which has given me a broad understanding of how life circumstances, stress, and systems impact our mental health and relationships. Through that experience, I found my calling in walking alongside women and couples during some of life’s more tender, complex seasons, including times of transition, disconnection, and rediscovery.
My approach is culturally informed, trauma informed, spiritually aware, body positive, sex positive, and inclusive. I draw from a range of modalities, including EMDR, IFS, Interpersonal Neurobiology, EFT, Gottman, somatic and attachment based work, to help you understand the patterns shaping your experience and build new ways of relating that feel more aligned and supportive. I am also certified in Perinatal Mental Health and Sex Therapy, which allows me to support clients through the unique intersections of identity, relationships, and sexuality across different life stages.
At the heart of my work is a belief that when women feel more connected to themselves, and when relationships feel more supportive and secure, it creates a ripple effect into families and communities.
These days, I live in Southeast Aurora with my family. Outside of work, you can usually find me reading for pleasure, spending time with friends, enjoying date nights with my husband, or having pizza and movie nights at home with my kids.
Give me belonging, give me identity, give me continuity, but give me transcendence and mystery and awe all in one.
Give me comfort, give me edge.
Give me novelty, give me familiarity.
Give me predictability, give me surprise.

We’ll dig deep.
Our work goes beyond surface level conversations. Together, we take the time to understand the patterns, experiences, and influences that have shaped how you think, feel, and relate. This includes exploring attachment dynamics, nervous system responses, and the impact of your relationships and environment. We move at a pace that feels manageable, allowing for insight that is not just intellectual, but meaningful and lasting.
You’re in charge.
This is your space, and your voice matters here. We will work collaboratively to shape the direction, pace, and focus of our time together. I bring guidance, structure, and perspective, but you are always the expert on your own experience. We will focus on what feels most important to you, and adjust as your needs and goals evolve over time.
I’ll cheer you on.
Change can feel vulnerable and, at times, uncomfortable, but you will not be doing it alone. I will support you with encouragement, honesty, and care, while also gently challenging you when it serves your growth. Behind the scenes, I am continually investing in continuing education, evidence based practices, and quality resources to bring thoughtful, up to date care into our work together. My goal is to create a space where you feel both supported and empowered, so you can move toward a life and relationships that feel more connected, aligned, and fulfilling.

My background
I’ve spent over 15 years serving individuals, couples, and the community.

My work integrates a range of evidence based and relational approaches to support meaningful, lasting change. I draw from attachment based therapy, sex therapy, EMDR, IFS, Interpersonal Neurobiology, EFT, Gottman Method principles, CBT, and somatic strategies. Rather than using a one size fits all model, I tailor these approaches to your unique needs, helping you understand patterns, regulate your nervous system, and build new ways of connecting with yourself and others.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, License 0011900. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (2007) and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Northern Arizona University (2011). I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International and a Certified Sex Therapist through the Modern Sex Therapy Institute. My education and training reflect a commitment to supporting women and couples across life stages, including the intersections of mental health, relationships, and sexuality.

My clinical experience spans a range of settings, including foster care, crisis intervention, and school based work at the district level. In these roles, I supported children, families, and systems navigating complex challenges, while also gaining a deeper understanding of how broader environments shape individual and relational wellbeing. For the past eight years, I have been in private practice, working closely with women and couples through life transitions, relationship challenges, and issues related to identity, intimacy, and connection. In addition to my clinical work, I have led workshops, spoken within the community, and engaged in advocacy efforts focused on mental health, relationships, and family support. This background informs my work today, allowing me to approach therapy with both a relational lens and an awareness of the larger systems that impact our lives.
