Couples Intensives in South Denver, Colorado

Deep, Focused Support for Couples Who Feel Stuck

Many couples find themselves stuck in the same patterns. The same arguments, the same shutdowns, the same distance that slowly builds over time. You might love each other deeply, but still feel disconnected, frustrated, or unsure how to move forward.

If that’s where you are, a couples intensive offers a different way to reconnect.

What Is a Couples Intensive?

A couples intensive is a longer, more focused therapy session designed to help you make meaningful progress in a shorter period of time.

Instead of meeting weekly for 50 minutes, you and your partner meet for an extended session, typically 3 hours, allowing us to move beyond surface-level conversations and into the deeper patterns shaping your relationship.

Why Couples Choose Intensives

Many couples reach out for a relationship intensive when:

  • You keep having the same conflict over and over

  • Communication feels reactive, tense, or avoidant

  • There is emotional distance or disconnection

  • Intimacy or desire has changed

  • You are navigating a transition, rupture, or betrayal

  • You want to strengthen your relationship before things get worse

What to Expect in a Couples Intensive

Couples intensives are structured, supportive, and tailored to your relationship. We explore the deeper cycle driving your interactions, including attachment patterns, emotional triggers, and nervous system responses. We slow things down so each partner can express underlying needs, fears, and longings in a way that can actually be heard and understood. And we learn new ways to communicate and connect.

You will leave with practical tools to:

  • Navigate conflict more effectively

  • Repair after disconnection

  • Build emotional safety and trust

  • Strengthen intimacy and connection

My approach integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method, attachment work, and somatic awareness, creating lasting change, not just temporary insight.

Overview Flow

  • Hour 1: Assessment + De-escalation + Identify the Cycle

  • Hour 2: Deepen Emotional Understanding + Restructure Interaction

  • Hour 3: Practice New Patterns + Integration + Next Steps

There are breaks in between each section where each person is able to grab some fresh air, eat a snack or refill their coffee, and use the restroom.

How Couples Intensives Are Different from Weekly Therapy

Traditional weekly sessions can be helpful, but they often end just as you begin to get into the deeper work. A couples therapy intensive allows you to stay with important conversations long enough to create real movement and practice new ways of relating with support all within one intensive. This work may take weeks or months of hour long sessions otherwise.

What Happens After an Intensive?

Some couples choose to continue with ongoing couples therapy to deepen the work.
Others use the intensive as a reset point and move forward with greater clarity and connection. We usually have a sense of whether another intensive or transitioning to hourly sessions is needed by the end of the intensive. For some couples, a single intensive is all that is needed to shift the relationship dynamic into something healthier and sustainable.
